ProperlyPaid exists for one reason: getting paid as a freelancer or small business shouldn't require expensive software, an account you'll forget the password to, or a "free" tool that stamps its logo across your invoice.

What we do

We build free, professional-grade business tools — invoice generators, quote builders, receipt makers, and pricing calculators — that run entirely in your browser. No signup. No watermark. No limits on how many documents you create.

Alongside the tools, we publish practical guides on invoicing, pricing your work, and getting paid on time, written for freelancers and small businesses in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

How the free tools are funded

ProperlyPaid is supported by advertising and affiliate links. When you see a recommendation for accounting software, for example, we may earn a commission if you sign up through our link — at no extra cost to you. This is what keeps every tool free, and it means our incentive is to build tools people actually use, not to upsell you.

We don't sell your data, because we don't collect it. The tools run 100% in your browser — your business details, client names, and invoice amounts never touch our servers. (There's simply nothing to sell.)

What we're not

We're not accountants, lawyers, or tax advisors. Our tools produce professional documents and our calculators show estimates — but tax rules differ by country and situation. For anything beyond general information, talk to a qualified professional. We say this plainly on every page that touches tax, because it's true.
